These are video and photographic documentation of sculptures Jon Roberts has placed along the Burlington, VT shoreline, as well as at locations near his recent residency in Savannah, Georgia. The works are wood or steel and use patinas that echo the fragile and transient yet permanent duality of the landscape. They sit between sculpture and image, installed in public spaces like a quiet form of sculptural graffiti. Faces and figures emerge through gaps and negative space, shifting as the viewer moves. All source footage is captured as installed, without digital effects or Photoshop.
